So, I'm presuming that you've already ready the other Shadow Hunter novels by Cassandra Clare and if not, why not? They are awesome. They're young adult by the way, but plenty of us alleged adults love them too.
The Red Scrolls of Magic is a spin off about two characters that we all know and adore from them, Alec and Magnus. It's a fun romp through Europe, with an added mystery, and plenty of action. We are witness to Alec and Magnus' burgeoning relationship and Clare creates the right balance of sensitivity, emotion, humour, romance and lets face it hotness. If you've read the other novels and care about this couple I would highly recommend it. If you've not read them, then go back and do so immediately and then read this one.
