Wild Embrace

Writer: Grace Davies - poetryGrace Davies - poetry

The written version is underneath the read out loud video.

I walk on this path with you my light.

Ripples in the darkness,

shadows on a rock,

the shape of tree branches,

moved by the invisible,

speak of you in whispers.

And I sit.

Legs crossed,

middle of a field,

the moon highlighting all with beauty.

I embrace the wolf

who has prowled for so long,

fall asleep in his fur,

with the realisation I have nothing to fear.

My heart held in his mouth with tenderness

never marked by the fangs,

the shape of me illuminated in the silver rays

my all surrendered.

Thus I am lifted,

into the trees.
